CIOFF signs partnership agreement with Basilica Software Corporation of Canada

The CIOF Foundation, Inc. signed last May 18, 2010 a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Basilica Software Corporation,  an IT solutions provider with headquarters in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada to help promote the CIOAdvisor, a comprehensive IT management and eGovernance solution among the various agencies of government and the business sector.
Dan F. Pabellon, CIOFF Chairman, and Manny Masongsong, Chairman and CEO of Basilica Software Corporation, signed on behalf of their respective organizations.  Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) Commissioner and concurrent National Computer Center (NCC) Director-General Angelo Timoteo Diaz de Rivera and members of the CIOF Foundation board of trustees witnessed the signing of the partnership agreement.

Mr. Pabellon said that the partnership agreement will allow the CIOF Foundation to promote and market in the country the CIOAdvisor either as a licensed product or on a subscription basis.  The latter will make the software available to more agencies as this will not require any capital outlay.  They only need to subscribe and avail of the full functionalities of the service based on the Software as a Service (SaaS) concept.  This also applies cloud computing as a means of availing the use by agencies of the system to enhance agency and personnel productivity and operational efficiency, which will eventually translate into substantial savings to government as a whole.
